Man idk the argument about hvy being a Chinese company and so they're restricted on having characters with dark skin tones when dislyte is ALSO a Chinese company and they typically are really good at representing the culture they take from for their characters makes it somewhat mute

Y’all…., it is absolutely possible to be an animal and “condone” that animal’s death. I’m a wolf. Animals, including wolves, die.

Hunting and trapping is not inherently unethical. It’s actually extremely ethical to use all of an animal’s body if you kill it. Hunting and trapping are a way of life for many people around the world- this is how people survive.

Not all fur farms are unethical either. A lot can be! Just like a lot of dairy and meat farms can be unethical. But this doesn’t mean real fur/leather or meat/dairy are unethical.

I’ll say this again: Animals die. Animals die for life to go on. It’s possible to find fur that is ethically sourced, you’re just under the assumption that hunting and trapping are always unethical- which is a very, very privileged opinion to have.

It's been good coming back. Most other apps made me more depressed. Even though I always feel like I'm watching everyone else talk and interact here, it's still ok. I've noticed since coming back I'm getting a lot of likes and reblogs and followers. It's definitely exiting but I also think it's because there aren't as many of us left, so when you find someone who posts the same stuff as you it's even more exciting. I'll keep posting. Finally finished Ori and the Will of the Whisps after four years (it came out in like 2020 or something). It took me 22 hours but I like to wander and collect all the things. The end made me cry. I really like the themes of sacrifice and life going in cycles. But also fuck that conclusion for Shriek, poor thing got done dirty her whole life, she didn't choose shit. Still a very good game and a nice conclusion to the duology. If you like Metroidvanias definitely play these two. :)

Anime Talk - Just Sad

*sigh* Now I'm just feeling sad, and it's all because of anime because... well anime can make you go through all kinds of emotions but this... well it just became a bit more real than usual.

Remember what anime I have been promoting for the past couple of months? This one! ("Oshi no Ko" in case you can't be bothered to follow the link) If you don't feel like watching the anime, go read the manga. It's on Jump+, first read is free.

Last month, a classmate told me that it is based on real events. When she said that, I wanted to look into it and learn more. Well, she is kind of right. I believe that most of the events described have actually happened, not to the same people, maybe not even anywhere near the same time, but I believe there is at least one example of most events in the real Japanese entertainment industry. According to one of the authors (Akasaka, Aka) that is what is going on. However, after episode 6, people got a much more specific case in mind.

In this episode, a participant in a dating drama is being exessively bullied online by fans of the show and this causes her to attempt suicide. She is saved, but the story that these events are allegedly based on, ends a lot differently.

A pro-wrestler was in a similar situation, and unfortunately, she had no one to save her. Apparently the two stories were so similar that the mother of the pro-wrestler claims that the show is using her daughter's death to make a profit.

It has never been confirmed that this is the case, but if it is, honestly I can no longer support the show the way I do now. It's good, yes, but I will not help someone making a profit from someone else's suicide.

However, even with the arguments that the mother makes, it could be a coincidence that some of the posts are similar to those her daughter received. I mean, I don't know what kind of posts it even is. Many people get bullied online these days. Sadly that is nothing new. You don't have to be on a dating show, you don't even have to be famous for people online to tell you such evil things. I don't even want to type out what kind of evil things it is! Many years ago, I remember seeing a documentary, I think it was British, about teens taking their own lives due to exessive bullying on the internet that they could never escape from. Because this is such a common problem, I do not believe that neither the manga artists, nor the animators are trying to make a profit out of a single girl's suicide.

Even so, the mother of the daugher in question has every right to her feelings. She has every right to make the claims she does, and they may be true, I have no way of neither confirming, nor denying that.

However, people do not have the right to start bullying this poor mother who lost her daughter in such a tragic way (they don't have the right to bully anyone actually). Even so, they have been harrassing her for her claims, no matter what. The "fans" of "Oshi no Ko" who have just seen a message about what bullying online can cause, are actively doing that to someone else. How is this right? It's sad. It's tragic. My heart breaks for anyone who has ever been bullied this exessively online or offline.

I honestly wonder what goes through people's minds that makes them capable of bullying someone online. *sigh*

Anyway, if you are hurting and need someone to talk to, reach out to a service, or to anyone really. You are important to someone, you are valued, even if it doesn't always feel that way, there is someone who cares.

I'm fully in support of Xavier liking the really terrifying and disturbing looking types of clowns. I could totally see him loving those types of movies as well. God, now I need to see or read that and Wednesday's reaction to it :)

THANK YOU!!!!!! the only horror clown i don't think he's into is ironically Pennywise from IT. the monster is like, literally bigotry and hate but an alien so i think that kinda cancels out the fun evil clown vibes. like he's also not a fan of actual real clown and serial killer john wayne gace. since it's the internet i have to expressly say that rip.

I think his top clown movies are:

The Last Circus (2010) -- a Spanish-French dark comedy-drama film. It takes place in 1937 in the middle of the Spanish Civil War. It follows a young trapeze artist who is forced to choose between Sergio, the Happy Clown and Javier, the Sad Clown. However, both of these clowns are deeply disturbed. Apparently Quentin Tarantino likes it too which is a vibe.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988) -- an infamous cult classic science fiction horror comedy. it’s plot is pretty much what it says on the tin. i just think that xavier is allowed to like at least 1 (one) silly goofy thing and this is a romp.

but overall i 100% think Xavier's more into jesters and harlequins if we’re getting more specific about our clown vibes and especially if they're kinda ooky. Semi-unrelated but i also think his fave video game would be Alice the Madness Returns and that Alice is 1000% his video game waifu.

I mean..... look at her...... this game came out when he was about 11.... you can’t tell me that 1. anyone in his house would care he’s playing an M rated game and 2. he wouldn’t be like “oh wow she’s surly, violent, dark haired and gorgeous i’m in love?????”

i discovered yesterday that in the quest in 3 that involves fighting illuminoct before fighting him hailey literally says "come at us bro" n that's hilarious to me. hailey is just high-key the best yo-kai watch character-
